You’ve always had that image in your mind of your totally “tricked out” car: the car with the cool chrome rims, the booming sound system, the custom paint job. You see those guys driving around with your perfect car, all tricked out with the latest custom upgrades. You find yourself thinking, “why not me?”
Well there’s no reason why you can’t have that car you know will give you the street cred you’re looking for. You want others to stop and stare when you pull up to the light next to them. So why wait?
If you want to pimp out your car, there are a few main areas that you should focus on:
- Sound system
In order to make a car look flashy, you might want to start off by installing slightly bigger tires. Most car bodies will accommodate slightly bigger wheels without any modifications, and even adding an increase of 2 inches to your tires should make a noticeable difference in the way your car sits off the ground. Along with the tires themselves, putting on chrome or specialty rims can add a wow factor to your tires that you do not see in many other vehicles.
2. Sound System
Having a sound system that is leagues beyond what comes factory installed in your car helps to make it cooler, and it can serve a practical purpose. Most great sound systems involve a lot of bass, which means installing subwoofers and an amp. Along with this, you may want to install higher quality speakers throughout your car, especially if you are going to be playing music extremely loud, which can damage factory speakers in a short time span. If you want to add the ultimate system to your car, you can clear out the entire trunk space and make it dedicated to entertainment. Installing extra speakers and maybe even a DVD player with a TV can make your car a major hit at parties.
The paint job on a car can make all the difference between it looking fresh, and looking dated. Even with all of the modifications you can think of, a plain paint job, or paint that is peeling, can make your car look cheap. At minimum, you should have your car repainted whatever color you want to make it look brand new. If you want to expand upon that you can have details added and special chameleon paint that will make your car look different depending on how much light shines on it.
Changing the body of a car can potentially be one of the most expensive things about pimping your car out, but it can pave the way for all sorts of cool additions and expansions. Having your car lifted several inches more off the ground can make it easier for you to install bigger tires, and it will sit higher than many other cars, giving it a “premium” look. You can add other body modifications to it like spoilers or special headlights to give it a futuristic feel that will really help it stand out.
The windows you have in your car can be altered to make them look like they match with the rest of the car’s feel. Car window tinting is very popular and can add a sort of mysterious look to a car that can’t really be duplicated with other changes. Depending on your state’s laws, you can tint all of your windows, or everything but the windshield, and you may be able to pretty well black out side windows completely.
